Stop your signal group trading at hours you'd never trade
Your VIP group posts a gold call at 2am, or late on a Friday, and the bot takes it because that's what it's set to do. You wake up to a trade you'd never have placed yourself, at an hour you'd never be watching the chart.
The setting: Trading hours and days
Every signal group has its own trading window. To find it, tap Signals in the bottom bar (or More, then Signal Groups), find the group's card and tap Edit. The screen that opens is called Signal settings, and the trading window sits near the bottom, just above the news filter.
Once it's on, the group's signals are only accepted inside the hours and days you set. A signal that lands outside them is logged and skipped. Nothing is placed for it, and the group's Feed shows the reason, "outside window".
There are two ways to set it:
- Same hours every day: pick the days, Monday to Sunday, and set one From time and one To time.
- Custom per day: give each day its own From and To. A day with no times entered doesn't trade at all.
It's off by default. When you switch it on it starts at Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 20:00 UTC, and you change it from there to match how you actually trade.
If the To time is earlier than the From time, the window wraps past midnight. So 22:00 to 02:00 runs through the night. It isn't treated as a mistake.
Trading hours also show up as one of the conditions on the group's card, next to Telegram, MT5, markets open and the news filter. That lets you see at a glance whether the group is inside its window right now.
This is how you trade signals only during set hours without pausing the group every evening and remembering to switch it back on in the morning. Paused stops everything. The window only stops what falls outside the times you chose.
What it doesn't do
It works per group. Hours set on one VIP group do nothing to another, so if you copy three groups and want the same hours on all of them, set the window on each one.
A skipped signal stays skipped. It isn't saved for later. If the group posts a call at 06:55 and your window opens at 07:00, that call doesn't wait and then fire at 07:00. It's logged and dropped.
It doesn't replace the news filter. The news filter is a separate setting on the same screen. It blocks new signals for a set number of minutes either side of a high-impact event for that pair's currencies. You can use both together.
You don't have to block the weekend yourself either. Forex, gold and indices are closed from Friday 21:00 to Sunday 21:00 UTC regardless of your window.
The thing to watch: it runs on UTC
All times in the trading window are UTC. They aren't your phone's clock and they aren't your broker's server time. That's different from other parts of the app: the Journal and your daily figures count from midnight in your own profile timezone, or UK time if you haven't set one. So don't assume the window lines up with the time on your phone.
Work out the hours you want in UTC before you type them in. Then watch the group's Feed for a day or two. If signals you expected to take are showing "outside window", check your times first.
