When your VIP group says close all and you are not there
Your VIP group posts "close all" or "cancel the pending order" while you are at work or asleep. By the time you see it, the trade may have run back to your SL, or the pending order may have filled into a move the group had already called off.
How Trade By Focus follows the group's exits
Whether the group's later messages touch your trades depends on one setting for each group: How to trade these signals, in Signal settings. To find it, tap Signals in the bottom bar, or go to Auto and then Telegram Signals, and tap Edit on the group's card.
On Follow their signals exactly, the group's later management posts are matched to your trade and applied automatically. They do the same things the Manage panel does. That covers close it now, close all, take a partial or close half, move to BE, move SL and new TP levels. A signal group close all instruction is applied whether your trade is in profit or not. This is the only mode where the group's follow-ups are acted on.
On Use my preset, the group supplies the entry only. Your preset runs the SL, the TP ladder, BE and trailing, and the group's later messages are logged but not applied. On Paused, nothing is placed, so there is nothing to close.
A few details matter on a busy group:
- A close that names a side ("close the sells") closes only that side.
- A message that names an instrument only reaches trades on that instrument.
- "Buy close, sell now" closes first, then opens.
- A reply to a signal whose trade has already closed changes nothing.
Pending orders follow their own rules. Do not chase a move we missed is on by default. If the group announces a TP hit or a move to BE before your entry fills, the waiting order is cancelled. Cancel the waiting order at sets which TP announcement does it: the first, second or third. A message telling you to delete one side's waiting order ("delete the sell stop") cancels the group's waiting orders on that side only. An order that never fills expires at the end of the group's signal validity window, which is 8 hours by default.
Ignoring the group's exit calls
If you would rather your trades ran to their own SL and TPs, switch on Ignore the group's exit calls in the same Signal settings, in the break-even and close-early section. It is off by default.
With it on, the group's close-early and move-to-BE messages are not applied. Updated TP levels still apply, and so does a stop move that reduces risk, but the group can no longer widen your stop. Your own TP split and automatic BE still trigger on price. The change takes effect straight away, including on trades already open.
It does not add any protection of its own. A trade that goes into profit and then reverses before the first TP can still run to its SL. That is because automatic BE only arms once your chosen TP is actually hit.
Limits worth knowing
Matching is deliberately cautious. An instruction is applied only when it clearly belongs to that group's open trade, meaning it is a reply to the original signal or the group has only one open trade. Anything unclear is left for you to handle in the Manage panel.
A take-profit call such as "close 50%" or "take profit now" is measured from the group's entry, not yours. If your trade is at a loss at your own price, it is not closed, and the feed says why. On a single 0.01 position, a partial close takes the whole trade, because half of the minimum lot cannot be closed. That only happens when the trade is in profit.
Emergency Close All on the Trades page closes your open trades but does not stop a live group, so the next signal still trades. To stop new trades, pause the group's card or set Trade this group to Paused.
To check what happened, open the Feed on the group's card. Each message is tagged and shows what was read and whether a trade was placed. If you want a push when the group posts a follow-up on a live trade, turn on Signal Notifications under Profile, then Notifications. It is off by default.
