How to Run Two Brokers and Three Accounts From One Phone Screen

Most people who use MT5 have one broker, one account, and the MetaTrader app on their phone. That's the whole setup. It works, sort of, but the app was never built around the idea that a single trader might have a personal live account at one broker, a funded challenge account at a different one, and a demo they use to test ideas before going live. You end up logging in and out constantly, or you have two phones on your desk like some kind of trading desk cosplay.

If you're using MT5 multiple broker accounts in one app, the MetaTrader app won't help you. Trade By Focus will.

What the Max plan actually does

On the Max plan, you connect more than one MT5 account. Different brokers, different account types, demo or live, all showing on the same screen. You're not switching apps. You're not logging out of one to check the other. Everything is live at once.

Each account runs independently. It has its own connected signal groups, its own automation strategies, its own presets and trade management settings. They don't bleed into each other. You can have a fully automated strategy copying signals to one account while the other sits in manual mode waiting for your own entries. None of that coordination happens in MetaTrader. It can't.

A realistic example

Say you're running a funded account challenge. The prop firm gives you an MT5 login. You're under drawdown rules, you've got a daily loss limit to stay inside, and you want to copy a signal group you're already in because it's been consistent enough to trust with real money. The challenge account is at Broker A.

Your own money is in a live account at Broker B. Different broker, different number, but you want the same signal group copying there too. You're using the same calls on both accounts. The difference is lot sizing: you're risking a bit more on your own money than the funded challenge allows.

In Trade By Focus, you connect both accounts separately. Each one has the signal group attached with its own lot size and its own daily loss limit. The funded challenge account has a tighter drawdown limit set because you can't afford to get the account pulled. Your personal account has slightly looser settings because you're the one who funded it and you'll live with the consequences.

Both accounts are copying the same signals simultaneously. They're filling at the same time when the call comes in. One screen. Two accounts. Two brokers. You're not watching two MetaTrader apps and trying to manually mirror entries with a 3-second lag.

I ran two accounts for about six months before Trade By Focus, copying between them manually. The number of times I got one fill and missed the second because the signal moved fast enough to not give me a second tap is not something I'll miss.

The screen itself

From the main screen in Trade By Focus you can see both accounts. Flip between them with a tap. Each one shows its open trades, its P&L, any pending signal group calls waiting for confirmation. The journal tracks each account separately, so your funded challenge history doesn't mix with your personal account history. You can see which account is doing what without squinting.

When a signal comes in from a group you've attached to both accounts, both accounts respond according to their own settings. If your funded challenge account is in semi-auto mode (where you get a 60-second window to confirm or cancel the trade), and your personal account is in fully automatic mode, that's fine. They're independent. The signal hits, one account places it automatically, the other asks you first. Different rules for different stakes.

More than just signal copying

The multi-account setup isn't only for people following signal groups. You might want to run an automation strategy from the Automation Leaderboard on your demo account first, watch it for a few weeks, and then add it to your live account once you've seen it perform with real data. Both accounts are on the same screen. You're watching the demo strategy run live while your personal account does something else. No VPS. No second device. No logging in and out.

Or you keep a demo account permanently as a sandbox for testing new presets before you arm them on a live pair. New lot sizing configuration, a different TP ladder, a different breakeven trigger. Test it on the demo first, see how it behaves on actual market moves, then copy the preset across to your live account when you're happy with it. That's a sensible way to work, and it's much easier when both accounts are visible from the same screen rather than two separate installs.

What MetaTrader gives you here

Nothing, really. The MetaTrader 5 app logs you into one account at a time. If you want to check a second account you're logging out and logging back in, which is fine for occasional checks but useless if you're actively managing both. There's no concept of running separate strategies or signal sources on separate accounts from one view.

That's not a criticism. MetaTrader is a terminal. It does what a terminal does. Trade By Focus is built for traders who want to actually manage multiple MT5 accounts across brokers from their phone, not just view a chart.

The funded challenge angle

Running a funded challenge account alongside a personal account is one of the cleaner use cases for mt5 multiple broker accounts in one app. The prop firm gives you an MT5 login, same as any broker. Connect it to Trade By Focus alongside your existing account. Set the daily drawdown limit to match the challenge rules so it stops opening new trades if you're getting close to the daily max. Keep the signal group running on both, sized differently, and you're not scrambling between two apps trying to stay inside the rules while also managing your own positions.

The accounts are just accounts. Trade By Focus doesn't care which broker they're at or what the account type is. It connects, it syncs the history, it runs your automations and signal groups on each one according to the settings you've put in. The funded challenge account doesn't know it's being managed more carefully than your personal account. You just set it up that way.

If you've got an MT5 account, you've already got everything you need. Trade By Focus is live with a 7-day free trial: sign in with your MT5 login, connect a second account if you've got one, and see what it looks like to manage both from one screen.
