Trade By Focus runs your MT5 trailing stop on its own servers so you don't need to keep the app open

The problem every MT5 mobile trader hits eventually

You set a trailing stop on the MT5 mobile app, pocket your phone, and come back an hour later. The trade ran to target and reversed. Your trailing stop did nothing, because the moment the app went dark, the logic stopped. That's the dirty secret of MT5's native mobile trailing stop: it only works while you have a live connection. Lock your phone or lose signal, and it's gone.

This is the exact reason people end up babysitting screens or paying for a VPS they barely understand how to use. If you've spent any time trying to run an mt5 trailing stop without keeping app open, you already know the frustration. There's no clean answer inside the standard MT5 mobile app. The architecture just isn't built for it.

Trade By Focus is.

How server-side execution actually works

Trade By Focus runs a hosted MT5 connection on its own servers. When you log in with your broker credentials, those details are forwarded once to start the session and then discarded, never stored. Your funds stay in your own broker account. Trade By Focus never holds money. It just holds the connection.

Because that connection lives on a server rather than your phone, every piece of trade logic you attach to a position keeps running regardless of what your device is doing. Phone locked, app closed, underground on the Tube, doesn't matter. The server doesn't care.

The trailing stop logic lives there. Auto-breakeven lives there. The TP ladder lives there. None of it depends on your phone staying awake.

The five-level TP ladder and why it changes the way you manage trades

Every trade in Trade By Focus can carry up to five take-profit levels, TP1 through TP5. You're scaling out of the position in stages rather than waiting for one full exit that might never come. Each level closes a portion of the trade. The split is up to you.

Here's where it gets genuinely useful: you can set auto-breakeven to trigger the moment TP1 hits. So your first partial close lands, your stop moves to entry, and you're now in a free trade for the rest. No manual intervention. No watching. The server did it.

From TP1 onward, or from breakeven, or once a set profit level is banked, whichever you choose, the trailing stop kicks in. It follows price up, locks in more of the move, and executes the final close if price reverses back to the trail. The whole sequence runs without you. That's what an mt5 trailing stop without keeping app open actually looks like in practice.

I set one of these up on a gold trade early one morning, got pulled into back-to-back calls, and came back to find TP1 and TP2 had closed, breakeven had triggered, and the trail was sitting about 40 pips above entry. The trade had managed itself cleaner than I would have managed it manually, partly because I wouldn't have had the discipline to sit on my hands while it ran.

A concrete example: gold, partial closes, and a locked phone

Say you're trading XAUUSD. You enter long and set a five-level ladder: TP1 at 20 pips, TP2 at 45, TP3 at 80, TP4 at 120, TP5 as the full remaining position. Auto-breakeven is set to trigger at TP1. Trailing stop starts at TP2 with a 15-pip trail.

You put your phone in your pocket at 09:30 UTC, just after the London open gets going.

Gold pushes. TP1 hits. The server closes that portion, moves the stop to entry. TP2 hits. The trailing stop activates. Price keeps climbing, the trail follows. Then price stalls and pulls back 15 pips. The trail triggers. TP3, TP4, and the trailing exit all close out at different levels, all while your phone is locked.

You never opened the app. The server ran the entire exit sequence.

The MT5 native mobile app cannot do this. Even the desktop terminal's built-in trailing stop requires the terminal to be running. Trade By Focus is the mt5 trailing stop without keeping app open answer that doesn't involve a VPS you have to maintain yourself.

Safety and the thing most people forget to ask

Any time a platform touches your broker login, the right question is: what happens to my credentials?

With Trade By Focus, the answer is explicit. Your account number and password are forwarded once to establish the hosted MT5 session. After that, they're discarded. They're never stored on Trade By Focus servers. This sits inside FCA-aligned data handling boundaries. The platform is built by James, a UK-based trader who understood why this had to be watertight before anything else.

You're not handing over control of your money. Your funds never leave your broker. You're extending the session management to a server that runs your trade logic. Nothing more.

There are also safety guardrails built around the automation: a news-blackout feature that pauses new entries around high-impact events, daily drawdown limits, a max-concurrent-positions cap, and Emergency Close All if you need to flatten everything in one tap. The automation has guardrails. That matters when you're not watching.

What this actually means day-to-day

You plan the trade. You set the ladder, the trail, the breakeven rule. You enter. Then you walk away, not because you're being reckless, but because the exit logic is already set and running somewhere that doesn't depend on your phone's battery or signal.

This is the real gap between MT5's mobile app and what Trade By Focus does. The official app is a window into your account. Trade By Focus is an engine that runs against it.

For anyone who's ever had a trailing stop fail because they lost connection, or missed a TP because the app closed mid-session, or woken up to a trade that ran and fully reversed while they slept, this is the direct fix.
