Your MT5 Account Can Split One Trade Into Five Staggered Entries Across a Price Zone

Most traders with an MT5 account think the account can do one thing: place an order at a price. One entry, one stop, one target. You either nail the entry or you don't, and if the market reverses before it reaches your level, you've missed the move entirely and you're sat there watching it go without you.

What they don't know is that the MT5 account they already have can work a completely different way. Not with a new broker, not with a VPS, not with code. Just by connecting to Trade By Focus instead of the MetaTrader app and using the Laddered Entries feature to split one trade across an entire price zone.

This is the MT5 laddered entries zone trading approach, and once you've seen it, going back to hunting a single entry price feels like a strange way to trade.

Why chasing one price is a losing game

Zone trading exists because price rarely respects a single line. A supply or demand zone might be twenty, thirty, even fifty pips deep. Professional traders aren't picking one price inside that zone and hoping. They're spreading their exposure across it so that the deeper the market digs, the better their average entry becomes.

The problem for most retail traders is execution. Splitting a position across five pending orders means placing five separate orders in MetaTrader, giving each one its own stop level, managing them individually when they fill, and trying to keep track of which legs are still open. If one fills and one doesn't and price rips through, you're scrambling. I learned this the slow way after spending twenty minutes placing four separate limit orders on gold during a London open setup, only to watch the market fill two of them and reverse before I'd even finished setting the others up.

That's the thing laddered entries in Trade By Focus actually solves.

How the Laddered Entries feature actually works

You connect Trade By Focus with your existing MT5 login. Any broker, demo or live, takes about two minutes. From there, pull up the live chart on whatever pair you're watching.

When you spot a zone you want to trade, say a demand zone on XAUUSD sitting between 2,310 and 2,340, you open a new Laddered Entry instead of a standard order. You draw the zone on the chart by setting a top and a bottom. Then you enter your total position size, not a per-leg size, the total you want in the trade.

Trade By Focus does the rest. It splits that total into several staggered orders, each one placed at an evenly distributed price across the zone. Five legs spread across thirty pips means each order is roughly six pips apart, so the market has to work through your zone rather than either filling you in full or missing you completely. All five legs share one stop and one set of targets. They show up as a single entry on your Trades tab, not as five separate things to babysit.

The part that matters most: those legs are draggable on the chart while they're waiting. If price behaviour changes before the zone is reached, maybe it's consolidating just above your zone and you want to nudge the whole thing up a few pips, you drag the zone edges directly on screen. The orders update. No cancelling and re-entering, no typing new prices.

What this looks like on a real setup

Take a GBPUSD trade ahead of the London open at 08:00 UTC. You've identified a demand zone from the overnight session sitting between 1.2680 and 1.2720, forty pips deep. You want 0.50 lots exposure in total.

Instead of picking 1.2700 and hoping, you open a Laddered Entry in Trade By Focus, set the zone from 1.2680 to 1.2720, set total size to 0.50 lots, and TBF places five buy limit orders at 1.2688, 1.2696, 1.2704, 1.2712 and 1.2720, each 0.10 lots. All five share a stop below the zone and the same TP targets. If price dips to 1.2704 and bounces, three of your five legs have filled and your average entry is around 1.2709. You're in the trade with a better position than if you'd chased the mid-zone price alone. If price doesn't reach the zone at all, you adjust or cancel before the session gets busy.

This is an MT5 laddered entries zone trading approach running live through your own MT5 account at your own broker. The funds never leave your account. Trade By Focus is the interface, not a separate venue.

The orders live on Trade By Focus servers

One thing MetaTrader's mobile app can't do is manage pending orders independently of your connection. If you close the app, your stop and target management stops working with it.

The pending orders placed through a Laddered Entry in Trade By Focus sit on TBF's servers and remain active whether your phone is locked, in your pocket, or out of signal. When legs start filling, the trade management that's already attached to the entry, breakeven rules, take-profit levels, trailing stop settings, all of it keeps working server-side without you needing to keep anything open on your end. No VPS, no desktop terminal left running, nothing.

It's also worth saying what this isn't. This isn't a bot making decisions for you. You identified the zone, you set the size, you drew the entries. Trade By Focus placed the orders and is now managing them according to rules you set. The thinking is yours; the execution and management is handled.

Zone trading on MT5 was always possible. The tools weren't.

The MT5 account has always been capable of holding multiple pending orders at different price levels. What it never gave you was a way to do that from a phone in under a minute, with shared targets and a single stop, with draggable zone edges on a live chart, without having to manage each leg individually.

That gap is what the MT5 laddered entries zone trading feature in Trade By Focus closes. The account is the same account. The broker is the same broker. The setup is just done properly.
