Your MT5 Account Can Split One Trade Into Five Staggered Entries Across a Zone

Your MT5 Account Can Split One Trade Into Five Staggered Entries Across a Zone

Most traders who've been around for a while know the theory: instead of piling all your size into one entry, you spread it across a zone. If you get the top of the move, the average fills lower. If price dips another 20 pips, you're adding rather than panicking. The problem has never been knowing this. The problem is doing it properly when you're on your phone, juggling five pending orders, trying to keep the stop consistent across all of them, and then watching one leg fill while the others sit there waiting.

The MetaTrader app lets you place individual pending orders. That's it. You're doing the maths yourself, setting each one manually, and if you want them to share a stop and a set of targets, you're mentally tracking all of it. On a slow morning that's manageable. During London open volatility at 08:00 UTC, it's a mess.

What most MT5 account holders don't know is that they don't have to do any of that.

The mt5 ladder entry zone mobile feature you didn't know existed

Trade By Focus connects to your existing MT5 account, any broker, and it runs tools that MetaTrader has never offered. One of them is Laddered Entries.

Instead of placing five separate pending orders and hoping they behave like a single position, you pick a zone on the live chart and set your total position size. Trade By Focus does the splitting. It divides that size into several staggered orders spread across the zone you've defined, and every single leg shares one stop and one set of targets. From the Trades tab, they show up as one entry. One thing to manage, not five.

The mechanics are straightforward. You draw the zone on the chart by setting its upper and lower edges. The platform spaces the legs evenly across that band and attaches your stop and your take-profit levels to all of them. You're not reinventing the maths each time. You pick the zone, set the total size, and it's done.

Dragging the zone while it waits

This is the part that genuinely changes how you work with it.

After you've set up the ladder, while it's still sitting there waiting for price to enter the zone, you can grab the edges on the chart and move them. Widen the zone if you want more space between legs. Narrow it if price is approaching faster than expected. Shift the whole thing higher or lower if your read on the level changes. It's live. The pending orders update as you drag.

I'd been placing zone trades the hard way for longer than I care to admit, cancelling and reordering every time my read shifted slightly. This isn't that. The ladder is a live object on the chart until it starts filling.

That flexibility matters most when you're watching a pair set up during the 13:30 UTC New York open and the level you've been watching all morning turns out to be five pips lower than you'd originally marked. You don't rebuild the trade. You drag the zone.

What runs while the phone is in your pocket

Once price enters the zone and the legs start filling, Trade By Focus takes over on its servers. Not on your phone. The legs fill in sequence as price works through the zone. Each filled leg is part of the same position with the same exit rules.

The take-profit structure can run across up to five levels, closing a portion of the position at each one. Auto-breakeven moves the stop to entry the moment TP1 is hit, so the worst outcome on the remaining legs is scratch. A trailing stop can activate from TP1 onwards, or from breakeven, or once a specified profit level is banked. All of it runs on Trade By Focus's servers. Your phone can be locked, out of signal, or off entirely. The position keeps managing itself.

This is the specific difference from MetaTrader's basic trailing stop, which only works while the app has a live connection. If the app goes quiet, the trailing stop stops trailing. With Trade By Focus, the connection is server-side, so none of that applies.

A practical example on gold

Say you're watching XAU/USD set up a pullback into a support zone between 2,310 and 2,325. You want exposure but you're not confident enough to go full size at 2,325 and hope it holds. You'd rather average in if it dips further.

In Trade By Focus, you set the zone's upper edge at 2,325 and the lower edge at 2,310. You set your total lot size, and the platform creates the legs across the 15-pip band. Your stop sits below the zone, consistent across every leg. TP1 through TP3 are set once and apply to the position as a whole.

Price opens the London session and ticks into the upper edge of the zone. The first leg fills. It keeps dipping, the second leg fills, then the third. Your average entry is meaningfully better than if you'd gone all-in at 2,325. TP1 hits, auto-breakeven kicks in, the trailing stop activates. You put the phone in your pocket.

That's the mt5 ladder entry zone mobile experience in one trade.

Managing it on an open position

If the trade is live and you want to change something, the Manage panel on Trade By Focus lets you adjust the exit rules while the position is open. Move a take-profit level, tighten the trailing stop, adjust the breakeven trigger. These changes apply to the active position immediately. You're not locked into whatever you set at the start.

For a laddered trade that's partially filled and still has legs waiting, you can still interact with the zone on the chart. If price is approaching the lower edge faster than expected and you'd rather cut the zone short, you adjust it. The platform reflects the change in the pending orders.

The journal logs every leg, every fill, and every exit level automatically from the moment you connect your account. It pulls in your full closed-trade history too, so the journal has context from day one rather than starting from scratch.

What the MetaTrader app actually offers here

MetaTrader will place a pending limit or stop order at a single price. That's the full offer. To build a zone ladder manually, you'd place multiple orders individually, set the lot size on each separately, add a stop to each one, and try to keep the targets consistent. There's no grouping. There's no shared management. Cancel one and the others are unaffected, which means you could forget one sitting there if you move on.

Trade By Focus treats the ladder as one position from the start, which is what it is economically. The platform reflects that in how it's displayed, how it's managed, and how the exit rules apply.
