Your MT5 Account Can Run Two Brokers at Once From One Screen. Here's What That Looks Like
Most traders who run two MT5 accounts do the same thing: keep two phones on the desk, or tab between two separate MetaTrader logins, constantly logging out and back in. MetaTrader's own app has no way to hold more than one account open at a time. You log in with account A, you see account A. To see account B, you log out. You lose your place. You repeat.
If you've got an MT5 account at more than one broker, or you keep a separate demo running alongside your live book, you already know the friction. It's not a feature gap anyone talks about much, but it costs you attention every single time you switch, and that attention is not free.
There's a way around it that most MT5 traders haven't tried: connect both accounts to Trade By Focus on the Max plan, and you get a single dashboard on your phone that shows every open position across both brokers at once. No logging out. No switching. Both accounts live on one screen.
What MT5 multiple accounts across multiple brokers actually looks like in practice
Say you're running a gold account with one broker and a majors account with another. Both are MT5 accounts, different login credentials, different servers. In MetaTrader you'd have to choose one at a time.
In Trade By Focus, you add both. Each account connects the same way: pick your broker from the list, enter your account number and password. The password is forwarded once to open the session and then discarded, not held anywhere. Both accounts show up on your dashboard inside a couple of minutes.
From that point on, every open position from both accounts sits in one view. A gold trade running on broker A, a GBPUSD position on broker B, both visible at the same time. You can see which ones are in profit, which are sitting on the stop, and which haven't moved since the London open at 08:00 UTC without tapping between two separate apps or logging out of anything.
I've had this running with a live account and a demo I was using to vet an automation, and the thing that surprised me most was just how much mental energy I'd been wasting doing the manual switch. You don't notice it until it's gone.
Separate presets and drawdown limits per account
Seeing both accounts is only half of it. The more useful part is that each account gets its own settings in Trade By Focus, completely independent of the other.
If your gold broker account runs bigger size and your majors account runs tighter, you set different presets for each. Each preset carries its own lot size, stop placement, take-profit ladder (up to five levels with a partial close at each), auto-breakeven and trailing stop configuration. Save up to five presets per pair per account, arm the one you want, and every trade on that pair goes in already configured. The two accounts don't bleed into each other.
Drawdown limits work the same way. You can set a daily drawdown figure for account A that's different from account B. Once an account hits its daily loss limit, Trade By Focus stops opening new positions on that account for the rest of the day. The other account keeps going. There's no global kill switch that flattens everything because one account had a bad morning.
This matters more than it sounds. Running two accounts without separate guardrails means you're basically watching two fires and hoping neither spreads. Separate daily limits mean each account has its own circuit breaker and they don't interfere with each other.
Applying automations and signal groups per account
Each connected account can also run its own automations or signal group setups independently. If you're following a Telegram signal group on one account, that account's signal settings don't touch the other. You can run a ready-made strategy from the Automation Leaderboard on account B while account A trades from your own presets. They coexist without any configuration overlap.
A daily loss limit per signal group adds another layer on top of the account-level limit, so if a group has a bad run it stops placing orders for that day before it eats too far into the account. This is per account, per group. The controls are granular enough to be actually useful rather than just present.
What you're not doing in MetaTrader
The MetaTrader app is fine for what it is. It places trades, it shows your positions, it does have a basic trailing stop that runs while the app is connected. It wasn't built to hold two accounts open at once, and it has never had presets, auto-breakeven, a TP ladder, or account-level drawdown limits. That's not criticism; it's just what the app is.
The comparison that matters is the one you feel during the trading day. Checking a GBPUSD trade on broker B while a gold position is running on broker A, in MetaTrader, means logging out and logging back in. In Trade By Focus on the Max plan, it means glancing at your phone. The position list is already there. Both accounts, one screen.
Managing risk across two accounts when you can only see one at a time is how you end up with more exposure than you realised because you forgot what was open on the other side. A single dashboard fixes that by making the full picture visible without any effort.
The setup takes about five minutes
Adding a second account is the same process as adding the first. Broker from the list, account number, password. Trade By Focus connects to the MT5 server and the account appears in your dashboard. There's nothing to install at your end, no VPS to spin up, no terminal to leave running. Both accounts run on Trade By Focus's servers, which means your trailing stops, auto-breakeven, and automations keep working whether your phone is in your pocket, locked on your desk, or out of signal.
