Do Telegram signal groups make money? What 48,590 copied trades show
Most do not. Since 7 July 2026 we have tracked every call from 995 Telegram groups on demo accounts at live prices. Of the 619 groups with at least ten closed trades, 249 (40%) are in profit over their record so far. The other 370 are not.
How we measured it
We read every call a group posts and place it on a demo account at the live price within seconds, with the same settings for every group. Each trade then runs to its stop loss or take profits. Spread and slippage are in the results; commission and swap are not.
In all we read 118,209 calls, not counting repeats, and 48,590 became closed trades. The rest did not trade: price never reached the entry before the order expired, the group cancelled the call, or our settings skipped it because it never got a stop loss or came just before high-impact news.
A group is only counted once it has ten closed trades, the point at which Signal Rankings starts to grade it. Fewer than that says more about luck than about the group.
What the rest of the leaderboard shows
- A high win rate means little on its own. 241 groups win at least 6 trades in 10, and 100 of them still lose money: their wins are small and their losses large.
- Making money and being easy to hold are different things. The typical profitable group made $92 on a $1,000 account over its record, but at its worst was $113 down from its high. 137 of the 249 profitable groups fell further at some point than they had made in total.
- Last month's best are not next month's. Of the ten best groups in September, 2 made money in October. How to pick a group with that in mind.
Whether a group made money is only the first column. Signal Rankings also publishes each group's worst fall, its largest losing trade, its longest losing run and how long it took to recover, and those change the picture:
Why groups look better than this
- Losses that are never posted. The stop is hit and the next message is a new call.
- Wins claimed on trades that lost. "TP1 hit" is posted, but the trade went on to its stop with the rest of the position.
- Stops moved after entry. The stop is widened once the trade goes the wrong way, so the loss is bigger than the call said.
A group's own channel shows the trades it chooses to show. The common gaps we record, with the trade replayed on the chart as proof:
Why your result can differ from ours
Our figures use one set of settings for every group. You might size differently, take fewer take profits or skip news, and your broker's prices differ slightly from ours. A group that enters earlier or at a better price than a follower can is a common, honest reason for a gap. Our record starts in July 2026, so it is months, not years. None of it says what a group will do next.
How to check a group yourself
- Join and watch for two weeks before copying anything. Write down every call, with the time it was posted.
- For each call, check the chart: did price reach the entry, then the stop or the take profits first? Count the calls that never filled separately.
- Compare your tally with what the group posted about those trades. Every loss it did not mention, and every win it claimed that your chart does not show, is worth counting.
- Work out the result at one fixed size per trade, including the spread you would have paid.
That takes a few hours a week per group. Signal Rankings does the same for every group we track, all the time, and shows each group's record, its largest losses, its longest losing run and the losses it never posted.
Questions
Are Telegram forex signals worth paying for?
Some are. 40% of the groups we have graded are in profit over their record so far, and a group's own posts are not a reliable record. Check a group's measured results, including the losses it did not post, before paying for it or copying it.
How can I tell if a Telegram signal group is fake?
Track its calls yourself against the chart for two weeks, including the ones that never filled, and compare with what it posts. Losses that are never mentioned, "TP hit" posts on trades that went on to the stop, and stops moved after entry are the common signs.
